Friday Lecture – Tigers Talk
11:30 – 13:00 ECA Main Lecture Theatre
Three Tigers considers three artistic renderings of tiger-human encounters as a means to investigate the entanglement of human-animal relations that stand at the crossroads of cultural and environmental histories, and to reflect upon the fundaments of the ontological divide between the human and the non-human that these three artworks works seem to address. A speculative approach to the analysis of these works will be adopted, one that problematise models of art history and art criticism that exclude narrative readings.
